Defending a penalty area from attackers can be difficult for youth players. This drill is designed to allow players the opportunity practice emergency defending within their 18 yard box.

Coaching Objectives

This activity will provide players the opportunity to work their emergency defending in their 18 yard box, from both a shot stopping perspective as well as defending crosses. Players will work look to defend against an attacking overload, working together to stop the attacking team scoring.

Attackers will look to exploit their overload both from a crossing perspective as well as long range shooting
