In the drill, the defenders should try not to be drawn from their positions by the attacker. If the defenders cover the moves in the penalty area they can cut off the passing line to put pressure on the attacker who will not have a pass “on” If the defenders go to the player on the ball too quickly they can be beaten by a pass or change of pace from the attacker Defenders need good body shape to cut off the pass or move quickly if the attacking player dribbles forward IF one defender goes to press the other two must cover behind with one covering the goal and the other covering passing lanes
