This session is designed to allow players the opportunity to the timing and execution of making runs in behind the opposition defence

Coaching Objectives

This activity will provide players the opportunity to work on their decision making of when to look to make forward runs and the execution of weighting a pass into space to exploit in behind opposition. Both teams will be able to score, which will provide a match realistic consequence for incorrect decision making or execution. 

 

Drill Setup

  • 20 mins 4 x 4 mins: 1 min rest Mins
  • 6 Players
  • 2 different colour sets Bibs
  • 60 X 40 with 10 end zone each side y

What the Players Do

Team A will have the ball played into them via a coach. They will then look to maintain possession and attempted to score by having a player make a forward run into the end zone and receive a pass…
