Coaching Objectives

Improving the movement of strikers to be in positions to receive the ball centrally and on the wings. Team build up to focus on getting the ball into the striker for headers, volleys or to receive and create space for themselves.

Develop players' ability to maintain possession under pressure, improve passing precision, and enhance movement off the ball to receive passes in space.

  • Beginner: Allow more time and touches for central players to complete passes and make it easier for attackers to receive passes.
  • Intermediate: Limit touches for central players to two touches and increase the pressure from defenders.
  • Advanced: Reduce the size of the central zone to increase the challenge of maintaining possession and threading passes.

Drill Setup

  • 20 Mins
  • 2 Goals
  • 4 Bibs
  • 40 x 40 y

  • Communication: Use verbal and non-verbal cues to indicate when and where to pass.
