Play out from the goalkeeper

Difficulty

Playing out from the back means the goalkeeper must have the confidence of your defenders to pass wide and the midfielders come to receive and move the ball through the thirds. It is vital that your players can receive the ball and play forwards.

Coaching Objectives

Get players to change their body shape so they can receive the pass while running onto the pass. How alert are your players? Do they go to the right side?

Improve players' passing technique, decision-making, and movement off the ball to prepare them for match situations.
