In this drill players will work on their passing and receiving skills unopposed before putting it in to practice in an opposed drill where they will be challenged to keep possession as a team.
A high amount of ball rolling time is also important so the players can maintain quality and allow the practice to have an element of transition.

This drill develops players’ ability to build attacks through midfield, recognise moments to penetrate forward, and create overloads in attacking areas. Players improve combination play, timing of support runs, decision-making, and finishing under pressure. Defensively, the practice teaches recovery runs, compactness, transition reactions, and delaying attacks after losing possession.
In this drill players will develop their ability to:
Understand the importance of a pivot behind and ahead of the ball to keep possession
Movement to create space to play forward and beyond
Different types of passes to break lines
