Agility is vital for physical performance especially in youth players who have spent time without doing physical work. It is linked to speed of play and match fitness and the ability to turn at speed and use bursts of speed to help beat players

Coaching Objectives

In this competitive game players must use movement and finding space to keep possession of the ball and make it easier to create passing lanes. Players need a high level of agility to compete.

Agility is key to the performance of youth players, and is linked to speed of play and match fitness. For any youth player in pre-season agility is vital for physical performance

Coaching Objectives

This creates match specific movement for an individual player who is playing a one-two skill and also turning and moving to press where the coach instructs. You want to see the player turning and moving quickly to press the cone called out by the coach. It is aimed at developing agility and quick reactions to the coach's call.
