It’s important we work on players ability to recover when losing possession, as well as how to deal with the overload. Train attacking combinations, recovery defending, and transition play under pressure in a realistic small-sided scenario.
In this practice players will develop their understanding on how to delay the opposition to allow teammates time to recover. They will also work on where to recover in order to prevent goal scoring opportunities. It also works on attackers’ ability to combine quickly to finish before recovering defenders arrive, and train defenders to recover and transition under pressure.
