In this drill attackers are making decisions about when to shoot plus all the techniques an attacker needs – movement, first touch, dribble, shot. It is also a good work out for goalkeepers and defenders.
Coaching Objectives
- The attacker should face the way and have feet pointing in the direction of attack
- Outside foot should be used to control the ball when facing a defender
- Passes should be into the run of the attacker and not played behind or into the player
- Good weight on pass so that the attacker can take a strike at goal if they wish
- Shots should be on target and away from the goalkeeper
- Attackers should control and push the ball slightly ahead before striking it
- Supporting leg should be facing the goal for good balance
