This is a high intensity game with a simple object – get the ball from the goalkeeper to the striker in the best way possible. Players need good passing and moving skills with a good level of fitness as play is quick and continuous.
Coaching Objectives
- Speed of play – If the speed of the ball is wrong the chances of losing the ball are much greater
- Body Position to Receive - Open body, receive on the back foot to enable taking less touches
- Check Shoulder - Create good habits by checking before receiving the ball
- Anticipate movement of the pass
- Possession players should keep a good distance between themselves
- Play passes that split the defenders
