This is all about teams working in threes to create space, keep possession and setting up a striker to get shots in on goal. It is a wave game so the teams swap positions each time the attack is over. Great for movement, position and possession play.

Coaching Objectives

Attack

  • Attackers should make the area wide and long, spread out, to make it difficult to defend.
  • Passes should be accurate to the partner's favoured leg.
  • Move the ball at speed to stop defender recovery.
  • Control the ball when receiving with the leg on the far side of the defender so play is faster.
  • Body position should be side on so movement is quicker.
  • Look for triangles and diagonal passes.

Defence

  • Don't follow attacker, work in pairs to press together
  • Cover passing lines
  • Press to force mistakes and be ready to force dribbling players away from goal.
