This session is design to encourage players to practice their one v one defending principles, with a view to build into a team situation that allows this skill to be utilised

Coaching Objectives

Please note that in order for this activity to have the biggest impact on players its best to have two coaches, one focusing on the defending principles and detail, and another focusing on the attacking elements.

This will allow the players to receive more effective detail throughout the practice.

The detail that is coached within this practice will vary depending on the head coaches principles of play with regards to defending and attacking, but the session structure will allow for multiple repetitions of this skill for both teams.

The session will them allow players the chance to progress to applying the skills in a game situation.

 

Drill Setup

What the Players Do
